Review: An Affair of Interest by Barbara Metzger (4 stars, traditional)

Thoughts After Reading:
I'm happy to add An Affair of Interest to the list of Metzger's books that I love, rather than hate. The storyline is a lively romp that involves the hero frequently helping the heroine out of trouble as she gets involved in various schemes. Not exactly an original plot, but it was fun to see the hero keep coming to rescue despite his exasperation. The heroine seemed a little on the silly side, but I felt it understandable given that she is eighteen and has never been to London. I enjoyed that the heroine was the younger sibling for a change, with the older sister being the one who was obviously a diamond of the first water. The book also contained a (albeit subtle) level of comedy throughout. Overall, a well-written classic regency.
