The Duke's Blackmailed Bride by Leigh D' Ansey (4 stars, novella)
Full Description: Amazon
Rating: 4 out of 5
Thoughts After Reading: So I was looking for a quick read last night, and TDBB fit the bill nicely. The reader is initially given some insight to the heroine's life and her current predicament: namely, having dead parents and running out of money. The hero is always seen through the perspective of the heroine, but it eventually becomes clear [spoiler] that the hero's gruff and forceful behavior is a result of being crazy about her. As with most novellas I've read, there isn't enough time for significant character development and the actual "love" is questionable. However, the characters do at least have some past history to base their feelings on. Overall, it was a nice short story about the heroine and hero getting their HEAs.
Other note: The novella seems more pricey than most at $2.50 for the Kindle; just something to keep in mind.
